PENTICTON – A Penticton lumber company was four times unlucky last week after being targeted by thieves once again.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says P&E Lumber on Green Mountain Road was broken into last Wednesday morning, Nov. 30.
Sometime the previous night, entrance was gained to the property after a steel gate was breached. A compound shed door was pried open and a large steel toolbox was pulled from the frame it was bolted to, causing extensive damage.
The toolbox was left at the scene, however, and the businesses’ owners were unable to find anything else missing, although there is reason to suspect some fuel was siphoned from vehicles in the yard.
It was the fourth time the business has been targeted, with two previous break ins in April and a third in May.
The Green Mountain Equestrian Centre, located nearby, also reported a break in at their property overnight Tuesday. Owners reported an air compressor and a drill missing.
