Honda Accord voted auto journalists’ car of the year; Hyundai Sante Fe best SUV

TORONTO – The Honda Accord has been voted the car of the year by Canadian automobile journalists.

The Accord beat out the Porsche Boxter and Hyundai Elantra GT for the top prize.

The vehicles underwent thorough testing, including more than 40,000 data points gathered by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, in the evaluation.

Honda Canada President Takashi Sekiguchi thanked the company’s engineers in accepting the award at the Toronto auto show.

The Hyundai Sante Fe took the award for best utility vehicle.
