ASHCROFT – Lack of staff availability has prompted a temporary closure of the emergency room at the Ashcroft Hospital leading up to Christmas.
Ashcroft Emergency Department services will be unavailable from midnight on Friday, Dec. 23 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24 due to a lack of staff, according to a Interior Health Authority media release.
During the closure, residents should call 911 in case of an emergency, the release states.
Interior Health says residents are advised to use emergency departments or walk-in clinics in Kamloops or Merritt. Emergency departments are also open in Lilooet or 100 Mile House.
A registered nurse is available by phone 24-hours a day through HealthLink B.C. at 811.
