HAMILTON – Avon Cobourne’s time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats has come to an end after the CFL club released the veteran import running back on Saturday.
Cobourne spent the last two seasons with Hamilton after five campaigns with the Montreal Alouettes.
In seven CFL seasons, the 33-year-old has rushed for 4,999 yards and 37 touchdowns on 919 carries. Cobourne was also prolific catching the ball out of the backfield, hauling in 276 passes for 2,510 yards and seven TDs.
The native of Camden, N.J., was named the most valuable player of the 97th Grey Cup when Montreal defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 28-27.
