Summer festival WayHome to feature Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, the Killers

TORONTO – Canadian Grammy winners Arcade Fire will join Vegas rock band the Killers and freshly-reunited LCD Soundsystem at the WayHome Music And Arts festival in Ontario this summer.

Organizers announced the lineup for the second edition of the festival, which also includes rapper Future, sister trio Haim and Major Lazer, the electronic producer duo behind last summer’s hit “Lean On.”

The event runs from July 22 to 24 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds north of Barrie, Ont.

The eclectic lineup will also include rising Toronto rapper Tory Lanez, YouTube violinist Lindsey Stirling and British newcomer Banners.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 16, with general admission passes starting at about $210 for all three days of the festival.

The organizers are charging extra fees for tent camping after “unprecedented demand for on-site camping” last year, according to the WayHome website.

Last year’s inaugural WayHome festival drew widespread praise for some standout moments which included a three-hour set from Neil Young, a high-energy performance from rapper Kendrick Lamar and Sam Smith’s soulful closing performance, which he said marked his first time headlining a music festival.

WayHome organizers said that event drew 35,000 concertgoers.

The festival is a collaboration between promoters Republic Live and AC Entertainment, co-founder of Tennessee’s popular Bonnaroo Music Festival.
