Canada’s Gerrits wins aerials silver at worlds, China sweeps gold medals

VOSS, Norway – Canada’s Travis Gerrits has won a silver medal in men’s aerials at the freestyle skiing world championships.

Gerrits, from Milton, Ont., silver with a score of 117.73 points. World Cup champion Qi Guangpu of China won gold with 138.0 points. Countryman Zongyang Jia took third with 99.09.

China’s Xu Mengtao took the women’s title with 98.53 points, followed by Veronika Kursunova of Russia and Danielle Scott of Australia.
