A Formula One car driven by Quebec’s Jacques Villeneuve in 2001 failed to sell at auction in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The website of the auctioneer, Nate D. Sanders Auctions, showed the bidding would begin at US$100,000. The race car, however received zero bids before Thursday evening’s closing time.
Villeneuve drove the BAR-Honda racing team car to third-place finishes in the Spanish and German Grand Prix races in 2001.
According to the website, the car was complete with original decals and parts, except for the engine because the car is not street legal.
