First Win: Canada’s Homan beats Latvia at world women’s curling championship

RIGA, Latvia – Canada’s Rachel Homan has her first win at the world women’s curling championship.

The Ottawa skip defeated Latvia’s Iveta Stasa-Sarsune 7-5 today at the Volvo Sports Center.

Canada has split its first two round-robin games.

Homan opened the tournament with a loss to Scotland.

Canada will play Denmark in the evening draw.

Round-robin play continues through Thursday and the medal games are scheduled for March 24.
