Air Transat pilots overwhelmingly approve new five-year collective agreement

MONTREAL – Air Transat pilots have overwhelmingly approved a five-year collective agreement that the Air Line Pilots Association says includes “significant” improvements.

The union says that of the 91 per cent of pilots who voted, 82 per cent supported the tentative agreement reached Feb. 23.

The deal was reached after more than a year of direct negotiations and federal conciliation. It expires April 30, 2020.

The 524 Air Transat pilots operate a fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft based in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

The union has said the deal brings pilot wages “into line with their peers.”

Air Transat is part of Montreal-based Transat A.T. (TSX:TRZ), which operates an integrated travel business that includes flights and vacation packages in North America, Europe and other areas.
