PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP responded to some drama at the Penticton courthouse this morning that had nothing to do with what was going on in the courtrooms.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says two people got into an argument inside the courthouse today, March 8, as they were waiting to speak to a lawyer.
One man, who was chased outside the building, took refuge at City Hall, telling staff someone had threatened him with a gun.
Wrigglesworth says police found the two people involved and the matter was resolved. No one was hurt and no gun was found, although one of the individuals had a knife, which officers seized.
He says police were able to have a look at a survellience video of the incident to confirm the details, adding no charges were laid.
In an unrelated incident, a woman was taken into custody at the courthouse at about the same time. Turns out she was wanted on theft charges.
