Small earthquake felt in Merritt

MERRITT – No reports of damage after a 2.6 magnitude earthquake rattled the Merritt area Friday night.

The small quake happened at around 9:30 p.m.

The federal government agency Earthquakes Canada says the tremor in the Nicola Valley could be felt by people in Merritt.

There are reports some residents felt their houses shake a little bit during the earthquake.

There aren’t any reports of damage and Earthquake Canada says none are expected due to the size of the quake.
