Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Tethys Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:TPL). Oil and gas. Down half-a-cent, or 12.50 per cent, to 3.5 cents on 13.2 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 36 cents, or 8.35 per cent, to $4.67 on 10.6 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 74 cents, or 13.36 per cent, to $6.28 on 9.6 million shares.

Telesta Therapeutics Inc. (TSX:TST). Health-care. Down half-a-cent, or 4.35 per cent, to 11 cents on 8.2 million shares.

Data Group Ltd. (TSX:DGI). Business services. Unchanged at two cents on 7.8 million shares.

Surge Energy Inc. (TSX:SGY). Oil and gas. Up two cents, or 0.94 per cent, to $2.14 on 7.2 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Fairfax India Holdings Corp. (TSX:FIH.U). Asset management. Up eight cents, or 0.75 per cent, to $10.80 on 31,933 shares. The company is leading a plan to invest US$300 million into the Sanmar Chemicals Group, an Indian PVC manufacturer that’s expanding into Egypt. Fairfax India will provide an initial round of US$250 million, which is the maximum it’s currently allowed to make in any single investment. The investment depends on certain conditions but it’s expected to close by the end of June.
