Alfredo Bonaldi, the man found close to death at Summerland Senior's Village prompting an investigation into allegations of neglect, will be laid to rest this weekend.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church, 11 a.m. Dec. 15.
Alfredo, predeceased by his wife Maria Luisa, spent the majority of his working years at the Summerland Research Station, an organization established in 1914 by the Canadian Department of Agriculture to improve and preserve local agriculture. His love of flora continued after retiring with Alfredo spending most of his leisure time gardening.
He also enjoyed hunting and above all, fishing with friends.
Alfredo celebrated life, sharing plenty of wine and homemade Italian sausages and ham; an expression of his old-world, country skills.
Memorial tributes can be made to the Alzheimers Society.
