KELOWNA, B.C. – Cole Linaker scored the go-ahead power-play goal 19:49 into the third period and the Kelowna Rockets edged the Victoria Royals 4-3 on Thursday to even their second-round Western Hockey League playoff series at two games apiece.
Tomas Soustal and Justin Kirkland each scored one goal and assisted on another and Joe Gatenby rounded out the Kelowna attack.
Logan Fisher scored twice for the Royals and Ethan Price added the other goal.
Rockets goaltender Michael Herringer stopped 32 saves while Victoria’s Coleman Vollrath made 27 saves in defeat.
Kelowna was 2 for 5 on the power play. The Royals squandered all five of their chances with the man advantage.
