Niko Resources Ltd. (TSX:NKO). Oil and gas. Up 10 cents, or 64.52 per cent, to 25.5 cents on 17.7 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Down 40 cents, or 6.06 per cent, to $6.20 on 9.9 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up nine cents, or 5.26 per cent, to $1.80 on nine million shares. Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard said he expects a number of issues with the manufacturer would likely soon be resolved, enabling the province to finalize its US$1-billion funding deal for Bombardier’s CSeries passenger jet program. Couillard said the province’s first payment to the company will be made when the issues, including those involving liquidity, are dealt with.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down 29 cents, or 3.31 per cent, to $8.47 on 5.9 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down two cents, or 0.34 per cent, to $5.88 on 5.8 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 43 cents, or 4.55 per cent, to $9.03 on 5.6 million shares.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Drugs, health-care products. Down 72 cents, or 1.58 per cent, to $44.85 on 1.4 million shares. Valeant has turned to a drug industry veteran with more than three decades of experience to overhaul the embattled company and restore investor confidence. Joseph Papa, who was chairman and CEO of Irish drug company Perrigo, is expected to join Valeant early next month as chairman and chief executive, the Quebec-based firm said Monday.
