Peachland man pleads guilty to molesting three kids

KELOWNA – A Peachland man pleaded guilty today to three counts of sexual interference of a minor.

David James McHale, 63, was arrested in February 2015 and charged with five counts of sexually touching children under the age of 16, four counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault by a male on a male.

A publication ban forbids disclosure of why the case has been delayed two years but in early 2016 the RCMP issued an appeal to the public asking for any other possible victims to come forward.

Police said in 2015 McHale was known to them but did not disclose the number of alleged victims.

On Monday, April 10, McHale pleaded guilty to one count of sexual interference of someone under 14 and two counts of sexual interference of someone under 16.

The victims, according to Global Okanagan, are two girls and a boy.

An assessment has been ordered to determine if McHale qualifies as a dangerous offender or long-term offender.
