Looking for a forever home; Penticton SPCA pet of the week

PENTICTON – Misty is a quiet, shy dog that is looking for a home that can help build up her confidence.

She came from a very rural area outside of Kamloops, so things like walking on leash and car rides are new to her. Misty would benefit from having a guardian that has experience working with fearful or shy dogs.

Once she gets to know and warms up to you she loves to be brushed! Which is good because, as a border collie and husky mix, has a lot of fur! She appears to be house trained.

She needs to be introduced to people and new situations slowly. A quiet environment and gentle handling is a must for this four-year-old girl. She's never been around children before and we don't recommend a home with any young kids due to her fearfulness. We don't know how she would do around other types of animals but with slow and proper introductions she would probably be fine.

A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to help ensure success in the new home.

Misty's Animal ID is 427149.

Visit the South Okanagan Branch webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees, and hours of operation.
