LOS ANGELES – Burt Bacharach is cancelling two September concerts to recover from a broken arm.

A spokeswoman for the 88-year-old composer and conductor said Tuesday that Bacharach will skip scheduled performances on Sept. 3 in Curacao and Sept. 17 in Lancaster, California. Publicist Tina Brausam said Bacharach plans to resume his touring schedule in October.

She said she did not know how or when the six-time Grammy winner broke his arm.
