Kamloops woman arrested for allegedly stabbing husband

KAMLOOPS – A Kamloops woman is in custody after her husband reported she stabbed him this weekend.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says Kamloops Rural officers received a call yesterday, June 11, at 3:50 p.m. from a man reporting that during the night of June 10 his wife had stabbed him.

Officers located the wife at another residence where she was arrested. She's being held in custody pending a court appearance today, June 12.

Shelkie says police are recommending charges of assault with a weapon. The Kamloops woman is 48 years old and was previously known to police.

The man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where he received numerous stitches and was released, Shelkie says.
