Water levels in Thompson Rivers, Shuswap decreasing

KAMLOOPS – The water in Southern Interior rivers is receding prompting the B.C. River Forecast Centre to downgrade advisories.

The River Forecast Centre has ended all the high streamflow advisories in the province, including those issued for the South Thompson, Thompson and Shuswap Rivers.

Water levels in Shuswap Lake, the South Thompson River and Thompson River have all declined this week, according to the River Forecast Centre, and it would take a large amount of rain to return them to the levels seen earlier this year.

Advisories have ended or been downgraded for the past week as river and lake levels in the Thompson and Shuswap have stopped rising and have started to drop.
