Cyclist hit by car in serious condition

WEST KELOWNA – An 18-year-old cyclist is in Kelowna General Hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car.

The crash happened in the 2000 block of Boucherie Road in West Kelowna Friday at about 9:50 p.m.

“The driver of the vehicle that struck the cyclist was spoken to at the scene and is cooperating with RCMP,” according to Cpl.Steve Woodcox.

A traffic analyst was at the scene of the crash last night and officers from Central Okanagan Traffic Services are investigating.

No word yet if the driver will be charged in connection with the incident.
