Life had a rough start for eight kittens

PENTICTON – Staff at a West Kelowna veterinary hospital stepped up in a big way to help eight Penticton kittens that developed a skin problem while in foster care.

Corinne Ross with the South Okanagan-Similkameen branch of the SPCA says the kittens needed treatment but they couldn’t bring them back to the shelter or keep them in foster care.

“So in true generous fashion Dr. Oz stepped in,” Ross says in a media release. “All eight kittens went to the Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital for treatment and now they are ready for adoption.”

The strays were found in vineyards in the South Okanagan and some outside a Bank of Montreal branch. One of the kittens has been named BMO in honour of where it was found.

“The team at Rose Valley worked tirelessly to help these sweet kittens who had such a rough start in life,” Ross says.

One of the eight kittens has found a new home, but there are seven more that need to be adopted.
