Mail carriers taken off Kamloops streets due to air quality

KAMLOOPS – Mail service in Kamloops has been once again suspended by Canada Post as the air quality worsens.

Letter carriers went out this morning, July 17, to deliver mail but were recalled due to health concerns due to smoke form nearby wildfires, Phil Legault  with Canada Post says in an email.

“All mail is being kept safe and secure at our depots until we can ensure safe delivery,” he says. “We will re-evaluate throughout the day and on a daily basis to deliver the mail safely to our customers.”

The crown corporation has put Kamloops under a ‘yellow alert,’ meaning efforts are being made to deliver mail, but some customers won’t receive any today.
