CALGARY – Game 2 of the Minto Cup final that was expected to go Wednesday at Calgary’s Max Bell Centre has been cancelled.
The tournament organizers didn’t give a reason as to why the second game of the best-of-five series for the Canadian junior-A lacrosse championship was halted, only a statement on Twitter saying that an update would come Thursday.
“The Minto Cup Committee apologizes for any inconvenience due to the cancellation tonight. We will give a full update on the re-scheduling of Game 2 no later than 3 pm MDT tomorrow, Thurs Aug 23rd,” the tournament organizers tweeted.
The Canadian Lacrosse Association wasn’t able to provide any further details when contacted by The Canadian Press late Wednesday evening.
The Coquitlam Adanacs beat the Brampton Excelsiors 11-9 on Tuesday in Game 1. Game 3 was originally scheduled for Thursday.
