MADRID – Canada’s Milos Raonic advanced to the third round of the Madrid Masters with a 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-2 win over Ukraine’s Alexandr Dolgopolov.
Raonic, the 11th seed from Thornhill, Ont., fired 17 aces past Dolgopolov.
The Canadian broke Dolgopolov three times in six chances while denying the Ukrainian on all four of his break points.
Raonic will next face either seventh seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France or Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain.
