PENTICTON – Smokejumpers continue to mop up a wildfire on K Mountain hear Keremeos.
Justine Hunse with B.C. Wildfire says 10 parattack wildfire specialists are mopping up the 6.9 hecatre fire today, Sept. 13.
The crew has been camped out on the mountain, overnighting near the fire, which broke out late Thursday evening, Sept. 7.
Hunse says due to the rugged terrain, containment lines are restricted to areas which are accessible to the team.
Smoke will continue to be visible from the fire, the origin of which is still unknown.
Hunse says there is no estimated time frame for the parattack team to complete their work.
