RCMP searching for woman who allegedly stabbed man in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Police in Kamloops are looking for a woman who allegedly stabbed a man on Seymour Street last night.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release a man left the 7-Eleven on Seymour Street at approximately 9 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 10, followed by a woman on a BMX bike who claimed he owed her money.

A man associated to the woman was following behind on foot, Shelkie says.

When the victim didn't produce any money, the woman allegedly stabbed him in the back with a knife. The victim fled, and the woman and man followed him until he went into a store on Victoria Street and emergency services were called.

Shelkie says the victim was taken to hospital with a non life-threatening stab wound.

The female suspect is described as having blonde, shoulder-length hair. There is no description of the man who was with her.

If you have any information about the incident, or can identify the female suspect, call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
