Police investigating three suspicious deaths in Rutland house

KELOWNA – Police have a man in custody following three suspicious deaths in Rutland late yesterday.

Kelowna RCMP Const. Lesley Smith says the Serious Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service are at a home somewhere in Rutland “investigating the scene of a suspicious death involving three people at a residence.”

Kelowna RCMP were called to the area Dec. 19 at approximately 5 p.m.

“Upon attending police located three deceased individuals. The deaths appear to be suspicious and therefore the Kelowna Serious Crime Unit was called to investigate,” Smith says.

Police have one male in custody.

“This investigation is in its infancy stages," Smith says. "RCMP continue to secure the property as our serious crimes and specially trained forensic investigators examine the inside of the residence.”
