Opening Date for Greater Vernon Recreation and Aquatics Centre

COLDSTREAM, BC – The Halina Seniors Centre is now open, and the Vernon Recreation Centre will be open for program registration and non-aquatic programming on Monday September 30th.

Opening of the aquatics centre will be delayed by an additional week, with regular public swims and aquatics programming to start up on Monday October 7th, 2013.

Visitors can expect some exciting improvements upon re-opening, which include a new dehumidification system within the aquatics centre; new overhead and in- pool LED lighting; a renovated registration office with an accessible counter; and a new entry-way for the Halina Seniors Centre, with the addition of accessible automated sliding doors.

The public is invited to come in and check out the improvements and celebrate the pool re-opening by attending the public swims being offered on Saturday, October 12th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Sunday, October 13th from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm, where the first three hundred people at each event will swim for free.
