Police watchdog looking into North Okanagan fatality

The BC police watchdog has opened an investigation following a fatality in Lumby last December.

The Independent Investigations Office of BC states that an investigation is open regarding the death of an individual Dec. 18, 2023.

The police watchdog hasn't given any details of what took place only that an investigation is underway.

The Independent Investigations Office has a mandate to investigate all RCMP officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
