LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. – A Kentucky man facing state charges stemming from school shooting threats is now charged with federal offences too.
News outlets report an indictment filed Thursday outlines seven new charges against 21-year-old Dylan Jarrell, including the use of social media to send threatening and racist messages.
Kentucky State Police say Jarrell was arrested after a New Jersey woman reported harassing Facebook messages in October. Police have said their investigation uncovered evidence pertaining to “threats of bodily harm against multiple persons at a school.” Police say Jarrell was heavily armed and had a detailed plan of attack when arrested.
Jarrell has pleaded not guilty in state court to terroristic threatening and harassing communications charges.
His attorney, Nathan Riggs, said he’s waiting to go over the new charges with his client before responding.
