Jury chosen in case over Andy Warhol portrait of Farrah Fawcett now held by Ryan O’Neal

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A jury has been chosen in Los Angeles to hear a case over who owns an Andy Warhol portrait of the late Farrah Fawcett.

The actress’s alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin, is suing to gain possession of the artwork from actor Ryan O’Neal.

The “Charlie’s Angels” star decreed that all her artwork should be given to the university upon her death. But O’Neal says Warhol gave him a copy of the portrait and the university does not have the right to have it.

The university has another Fawcett portrait that was created in 1980.

Opening statements in the case are expected to begin Monday.

Fawcett died in 2009 after battling cancer. She and O’Neal were longtime lovers, and they have a son together.
