PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Austin Benigni had 16 points in Navy’s 86-78 win over Pennsylvania on Friday night.
Benigni added five assists for the Midshipmen (3-4). Jack Medalie added 14 points while going 4 of 7 from the floor, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the line while they also had six rebounds. Cam Cole shot 3 for 8 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points.
Ethan Roberts led the Quakers (2-4) in scoring, finishing with 33 points. Pennsylvania also got 16 points and 13 rebounds from Nick Spinoso. Sam Brown had 11 points.
Navy led Pennsylvania at the half, 37-28, with Jordan Pennick (eight points) its high scorer before the break. Navy pulled off the victory after a 9-0 second-half run erased a one-point deficit and gave them the lead at 59-51 with 7:13 left in the half. Cole scored 12 second-half points.
