ARMSTRONG – RCMP have seized a huge cache of firearms after responding to reports of guns being fired in an unsafe manner in Spallumcheen, south of Armstrong, last week.
Police say shots were being fired close to a road and other homes at 1640 Simons Rd. in Spallumcheen around 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19.
“Officers located a residence where bullet holes were scattered through vehicles on the property in question,” Const. Kelly Brett says in a media release.
Brett says a man and a woman were arrested and as police investigated, they found “numerous firearms and ammunition being stored in an unsafe manner.”
Among the 74 guns seized, there were both non-restricted and restricted firearms, along with ammunition and magazines.
She says no one was hurt.
A man and a woman, both from Armstrong, will be in court in June facing several firearm-related offences.
