Here are the winners of the annual Kelowna Community Awards

KELOWNA – The winners of the 43rd annual Kelowna Community Awards were announced at a ceremony in downtown Kelowna tonight.

The awards gala took place at the Kelowna Community Theatre this evening, April 26, honouring outstanding individuals, groups and organizations whose achievements benefited the city in 2017.

The winners of the awards are:

• Anita Tozer Memorial Award – Jimmy LeGuilloux
• Bob Giordano Memorial Award – Linda McIntosh
• Bryan Couling Memorial Award for Athletic Team of the Year – Kelowna Secondary School Owls Boys Curling Team
• Female Athlete of the Year – Taryn O’Neill
• Male Athlete of the Year – Grant Shephard
• Female Augie Ciancone Memorial Award – Taryn O’Neill
• Male Augie Ciancone Memorial Award – Clarke Larsen
• Young Female Volunteer of the Year – Ashley Robinson
• Young Male Volunteer of the Year – Finnegan Pihl
• Teen Honour in the Arts Award – Madelyn Miyashita
• Honour in the Arts Award – Simone Orlando
• Central Okanagan Foundation’s Volunteer Organization of the Year – Central Okanagan Search and Rescue
• Fred Macklin Memorial Award for Man of the Year – Peter Boyd
• Sarah Donalda Treadgold Memorial Award for Woman of the Year – Catherine Williams
• Corporate Community of the Year Award for small business – Scotia McLeod/Scotia Wealth Management
• Corporate Community of the Year Award for medium/large business – Crowe MacKay LLP
• Champion for the Environment Award for an individual – Angela Nagy
• Champion for the Environment Award for a business – One Big Table
