Deputies: Former aide to US senator who was facing child porn charges found dead

A former aide to U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander has been found dead, just weeks after the former staffer’s arrest on child pornography charges.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s office said on its website Friday that Ryan Loskarn was found dead Thursday in Maryland. Deputies say the preliminary investigation shows Loskarn may have committed suicide.

Loskarn had been allowed to live with his parents while he awaited trial on charges of possession and attempted distribution of child pornography.

The 35-year-old also was required to be electronically monitored while living with his parents.

Loskarn had been the chief of staff for Alexander, a Republican from Tennessee, for two years before his arrest. Loskarn was fired immediately after his arrest.
