New Hampshire expects record-breaking fall tourism season

CONORD, N.H. – New Hampshire tourism officials are predicting a record-breaking fall season.

The Division of Travel and Tourism Development forecasts a 5 per cent increase in visitors and a 6 per cent increase in spending compared to last year. They’re expecting 9.5 million visitors to spend about $1.42 billion.

Officials this week unveiled a new marketing campaign that seeks to position the state as the Northeast’s premier vacation destination for outdoor activity and autumn scenery. In addition to its online foliage tracker, the division has created “Leaf It to Kris,” a blog written by division spokeswoman Kris Neilsen, who will provide an insider’s view of fall.
