Wells Fargo disappointed in sign ruling in Vikings dispute
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Wells Fargo is considering its options after a federal judge ordered the bank to take down office-tower rooftop signs near the Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium.
Attorneys for the Vikings had labeled the signs a giant “photo bomb” of aerial images of U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank gave Wells Fargo 30 days to remove the elevated signs from the rooftops of two office towers near the $1.1 billion stadium. The judge also found Wells Fargo had breached a contract and ordered the San Francisco-based bank to pay the Vikings’ legal fees.
Attorneys for Wells Fargo contended the signs are within the rights of the deal struck two years ago.
U.S. Bank Stadium opens this summer.
