CHATEAUGUAY, Que. – Alexa Gray led all scorers with 13 points, and Canada opened the Challenge Cup with a three-set win over Mexico on Saturday.
Autumn Bailey added 11 points as the Canadian women took the match: 25-14, 25-16, 25-17.
Tom Black was making his debut as Canada’s new head coach.
“It was a good way to begin the tournament, I saw a lot of what we were doing in training, and overall it’s a good start,” said Black.
Canada plays Puerto Rico on Sunday.
