SOCHI, Russia – The Canadian women’s curling team improved its record to 4-0 in the round-robin portion of the Sochi Winter Olympics with an 8-5 victory over Denmark on Thursday.
Skipped by Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones, Canada scored three points in the ninth end to pull away with the win.
Lene Nielson of Denmark (0-4) put pressure on the Canadian squad early, taking three points in the second end for a 3-1 lead — and giving Canada it’s first deficit of the tournament.
Jones replied with two points in the third end, and another in the fourth to swing the advantage back to Canada, 4-3.
Canada added to their score with a single in the seventh end, but Denmark scored two in the eighth to tie the game 5-5.
