WINNIPEG – Receiver Terrence Edwards is retiring after nine seasons in the Canadian Football League and the last seven with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who praised him as one of their greats.
He joined the Bombers as a free agent in 2007 and turns 35 in March.
He sits fourth on the team list for all-time in receiving yards at 7,200 and 10th in yards from scrimmage at 7,273.
Edwards produced five 1,000-yard-plus seasons in Winnipeg and 24 100-yard-plus games, second only to Milt Stegall among all-time Bombers receivers.
As a Bomber, he never failed to gain at least 500 receiving yards and pushed his CFL career totals to 508 catches for 7,637 yards and 47 touchdowns by the end of 2013.
His playing time was limited by injury last season.
