American private-school ski coach facing 10 charges in B.C. denied bail

VERNON, B.C. – An American cross country ski coach accused of secretly videotaping young girls at a ski resort in Vernon, B.C., has been denied bail in provincial court.

Forty-three-year-old Jason Paur showed no reaction to the decision, based on the judge’s belief that he is a flight risk.

The teacher from a private school in Seattle is due back in court next Wednesday for an arraignment hearing.

Paur faces 10 charges including secretly viewing nudity or sexual activity, break and enter and making or publishing child pornography.

He was arrested after a video camera was found in the room of a female student during a school outing to the Silver Star resort, near Vernon.

Paur has been in custody since his arrest last December. (CKIZ)
