Three youth in custody after hold-up in southern Vancouver Island

ESQUIMALT, B.C. – Three youth have been arrested following a takeover style robbery in Esquimalt.

Victoria police responded to a distress call about a holdup at a local store on Saturday night.

Police say three suspects entered the store, and pointed a gun and bear spray at the two employees.

They fled the scene before officers arrived after taking an unknown amount of cash and items from the store.

An officer spotted the trio later that night, and they were arrested.
