Family: Alice Herz-Sommer, believed world’s oldest Holocaust survivor, dies at age 110

LONDON – Alice Herz-Sommer, who was believed to be the oldest-known survivor of the Holocaust, died in London on Sunday at the age of 110, a family member said.

A film about her has been nominated for best short documentary at next month’s Academy Awards.

Herz-Sommer died in a hospital Sunday morning after being admitted Friday, daughter-in-law Genevieve Sommer said.
