Man punched and kicked downtown

KELOWNA – A man was taken to the ground and kicked in the face by three others early Sunday morning at Lawrence Avenue and Pandosy Street.

Kelowna RCMP say two 19-year-old men were on Lawrence Avenue at about 1 a.m. and tried to spark up a conversation with five other men who apparently became angry. One 19-year-old was pushed and punched before falling to the ground. He was then kicked in the face, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The other man was able to get away unharmed.

The five suspects are described as East Indian men, one of whom was wearing a light blue sweater.

Anyone with any information who has not yet spoken with police is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP, Const. Joyce at 250-762-3300. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
