With more than 4 decades on experience in comics, Levitz joining Boom Studios’ board

Boom Studios has turned to comics industry veteran Paul Levitz to join its board of directors.

The Los Angeles-based publisher of titles including “Fairy Quest” and “Suicide Risk” announced the move at the ComicsPRO retailers’ membership meeting in Atlanta.

The 57-year-old Levitz is a writer, editor and publisher of comics. His runs on DC Comics’ “Legion of Super-Heroes” and the current “World’s Finest” are critical and commercial successes.

He said joining Boom’s board appealed to him because it gives him the chance to parlay his experience in the industry while working with the nine-year-old publisher.

Levitz says the studio is “an interesting company in an interesting time.” He says the medium of comics has moved beyond traditional boundaries.
