HOUSTON – Authorities say a woman and her two children have died in a mobile home fire northeast of Houston.
Rachel Moreno, spokeswoman for the Harris County fire marshal’s office, says first-responders saw flames coming from a back bedroom of the home early Wednesday.
Names of the victims have not been released but Moreno says the woman was 33 years old, her daughter was 11 and son 9. The father of the children was hospitalized with injuries.
Authorities earlier said another child was hospitalized, but Moreno says just the four lived in the home, which was destroyed.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, which broke out about 25 miles (40 kilometres) from downtown Houston.
___
This report has been updated to correct that just the father was hospitalized, not the father and a child.
