Source: Saskatchewan Roughriders sign head coach Chamblin to extension
REGINA – Corey Chamblin is staying put.
A CFL source says the Grey Cup-champion Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed their head coach to a multi-year contract extension.
The Riders have scheduled a news conference for Thursday afternoon to make the announcement official.
Chamblin, 36, was named the CFL’s coach of the year after leading the Roughriders to an 11-7 regular-season record and eventual Grey Cup title.
Chamblin has spent two seasons as Riders head coach, amassing a 19-17 regular-season record and 3-1 playoff mark, including one Grey Cup victory.
