PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – An arsenal of deadly and illegal weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition have been seized from a home in Prince George, B.C.
Members of B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit carried out the raid as they acted on a tip that weapons were hidden in a home on the northern outskirts of the city.
The unit’s Sgt. Lindsey Houghton says officers also believe the home has links to at least one Prince George-area gang member, although no one has been arrested.
Seven handguns were seized in the March 6 bust, including an M12 machine pistol with a silencer.
Investigators also found 11 rifles including an AK-47-type military-style rifle and a pistol grip shotgun, along with six prohibited high-capacity magazines and approximately 2,000 rounds of assorted ammunition.
Houghton says the raid is a blow to gangs in the Prince George area and reduces the threat to public safety.
