Beach protesters demand lakeshore access along Kelowna’s waterfront
KELOWNA – Walk the Beach is again organizing a protest march asking for unfettered high-water beach access on Okanagan Lake.
The group held its inaugural march last August, attracting a couple of hundred participants.
Organizer Al Janusas has vowed to make beach access on Okanagan Lake a political issue during this fall's municipal election.
Docks Shame or Fame — a Facebook group that posts pictures of docks and other structures on Kelowna's lakeshore they believe violate the high water mark — posted this picture in advance of the protest.
“Now this is a whole new of rudeness,” the page administrator said.
